Privacy Policy

Short version: we collect the minimum necessary to run the service. Your writing stays on your device by default. We will never sell your data.
What we collect
For Free accounts: none — the desktop app stores all data locally, with no account required. For paid accounts: name, email address, and billing information (processed by Stripe). We never see your payment card details.
What we do not collect
We do not collect, read, or sell your notes, journal entries, novels, tasks, bookmarks, or vault contents. Your creative work belongs entirely to you.
Cloud sync (opt-in)
Cloud sync via Supabase is opt-in and disabled by default. If you enable it, your data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and encrypted at rest (AES-256). You can disable sync and delete cloud data at any time.
AI model providers
When you use AI features, your prompts are sent to the AI provider you select (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI). For local Ollama models, no data leaves your device. Review each provider's privacy policy for details on how they handle your data.
Analytics
We collect anonymised, aggregate usage analytics (e.g. feature adoption rates) to improve the product. This data cannot be linked back to you. You may opt out in Settings → Privacy.
Cookies
The web app uses strictly necessary cookies for session management. No advertising or tracking cookies are used. See our Cookie Policy for details.
Data retention
Account data is retained while your account is active. You may export or delete all your data at any time from Settings. On account deletion, we permanently erase your data within 30 days.
Children
Envello is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us immediately.
Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to processing. Email privacy@envello.app to exercise these rights.
